Gasparilla Festival of the Arts 2023 Artist Information Packet

Rebecca Hagen of Sky Lake Studio has volunteered for the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts for five years. In 2022 she became part of the marketing committee and serves as the website manager. While Raymond James staff handles most Festival artwork, Rebecca has the opportunity to create a variety of graphics including social media images, PowerPoint slides and the cover for the Artist Load-In/Load-Out packet. The 2023 cover design is anchored by this year’s Festival image, “Sunny,” by Michelle Mardis.

Evolution Institute Newsletter

In 2021, Sky Lake Studio was tasked with designing an HTML-formatted newsletter for the Evolution Institute, a science and humanities think-tank based in Florida. The challenge was to convey scientific thought and research in a way that was friendly, human and approachable. The newsletter header design, paired organic waves and geometric shapes in cool greens and blues to set this tone. Carefully curated images made the end design engaging. To keep the newsletter from looking like a canned email template, Sky Lake Studio used a third-party HTML newsletter builder and imported files into the client’s MailChimp account for distribution.

RealAdvice Brand Collateral

RealAdvice

RealAdvice had an established brand that unfortunately was copied by another marginally related business. Since RealAdvice’s focus had changed since the original logo design, they chose not to engage in a copyright battle but to redesign. Sky Lake Studio created a new logo reflecting the company’s high-tech focus, giving it a “complex yet simple” feel. SLD created a business package and other collateral materials utilizing the new logo.

Sky Lake Studio was contracted to build a new website for Laura Grace McCann, a Structural Energetic Therapist in Tampa, Florida. The website was designed to appeal to medical professionals including doctors and chiropractors who generate referrals, as well as potential clients interested in forms of alternative medicine and therapeutic bodywork.

USF College of Nursing Leaders in Care campaign

Sky Lake Studio worked with the USF Health Office of Development to create this fundraising campaign logo and mailer for the USF College of Nursing. The focal piece of the logo is a stylized flame evoking the lamp of Florence Nightingale, a universal symbol of the nursing profession. The flame shape was carried throughout the mailer.

Pinellas County Medical Association e-Newsletter

In 2019, Sky Lake Studio assisted the Pinellas County Medical Association with a number of brand update projects. Among the most dramatic was the re-design of their html-formatted newsletter, distributed via Constant Contact. We created a simpler, cleaner look with a strong visual hierarchy. In addition to increasing the professional appearance and readability of the newsletter, the re-design delivered a nice increase in click-throughs for the client.
